ICSC Las Vegas: The Ultimate Retail Event
ICSC Las Vegas, held annually in May, welcomes more than 25,000 industry professionals for 3 action-packed days of cutting edge content sessions, networking, and dealmaking. Each year, the Coldwell Banker Commercial® brand is positioned right in the middle of the excitement, with a booth for hosting meetings with current and potential clients and to build new relationships with attendees. “Our CBC booth — right at the heart of it all — reflects our commitment to being at the center of the commercial real estate industry and ensures we’re a part of every important conversation and connection.” Stated Mike Bruschwein, Coldwell Banker Commercial CBS.
The event kicked-off with two new, full-day learning tracks. ICSC+PROPTECH attendees discovered innovative property technology, joined curated meetings and gainedaccess to creators powering smarter spaces.
Over 3,000 women attended the ICSC+WOMEN IN CRE track. The first panel, Capital, Confidence and Control: A Practical Guide to Investing in Commercial Real Estate discussed practical first steps to investing, ranging from basic networking to important questions to ask. As one panelist stated, “Those who ask the basic questions are some of the smartest investors.”
Attendees also benefited from inspiring career journeys and actionable insights shared by keynote speakers Randi Zuckerberg and Erin Andrews. Randi, CEO of Zuckerberg Media, provided a fresh perspective on navigating an increasingly digital world, including how to effectively leverage AI tools. Erin offered takeaways from her experience as a lead NFL sideline reporter and as co-founder of one of the first “by women, for women” sports apparel brands.
Despite recent challenges including inflation, economic uncertainty, and retailer bankruptcies, retail industry leaders at the conference expressed optimism about the future. Strong fundamentals like limited new supply, rising rents, and continued positive absorption are reinforcing confidence that retail remains one of the most resilient commercial real estate sectors. Investors are actively deploying capital, with a focus on grocery-anchored centers, restaurants, discount retailers, and experiential tenants like entertainment and medical uses. Speakers emphasized adaptability as key to success by repositioning underperforming assets, diversifying tenant mixes, and viewing retail as a long-term investment play despite short-term volatility.
Monday evening, CBC was proud to be a platinum sponsor of the 12th Annual Let’s Get Social Happy Hour. The event brought together over 400 CRE professionals who are connected across various social media platforms. On Tuesday, CBC hosted a special Client Appreciation event, offering affiliated brokers and their clients an opportunity to connect and network in a more relaxed setting outside of their scheduled meetings.
The energy in the booth was palpable, as the more than 50 Coldwell Banker Commercial affiliated brokers in attendance hosted meetings with over 40 different brands. "Having access to the Coldwell Banker Commercial booth gave me a professional and highly visible place to meet clients, retailers, developers and fellow brokers throughout the event. It made it easier to reconnect and strengthen existing relationships, schedule productive meetings, and engage in spontaneous conversations that could lead to future opportunities." Commented Paul Howe, Coldwell Banker Commercial Heritage.
